Dear Bill, Gina, Becca and Dozer.

Thought that you make like to see Dolly in her staring role! She was part of a huge televised Good Friday re-enactment and carried "Jesus" around Salisbury city centre.

She was a total star. Huge crowds of hundreds of people rushed towards her shouting and surrounded her but she kept going and didn't move a muscle when she had to stand still! She got a lot of praise for being so fantastic! We were so proud of her! She really is "bomb proof"! What a credit to you!
Thought that we would send some photos and also wish you all a very Happy Easter.

Very Best wishes
Christa, Jon, Dolly and the gang!

Hi Mr. Garrett,

I just wanted to drop a line to let you know that your donkeys made a real hit in New England yesterday. The Nicholson's of Granby, CT and their 4-H group, and family and friends showed their donkeys they had gotten from you at the Waters Farm Donkey and Mule show in Sutton, MA. I think the donkeys names are Caramel, Sage, and dang, can't remember the name of the other one, but have pictures if you would like. They all looked gorgeous, performed well under saddle and in hand and turned a lot of heads.

I have been keeping updated on Dozer's progress via the Mammoth Donkey list and your site and am pleased to hear that he continues to do well. Just thought that you might like to hear that your donkeys are keeping your great reputation for selling well put together donkeys with great temperaments alive and well in New England.

Best regards,

Ann W. Firestone

Dear Garrett Crew,

I just wanted to thanks you for helping us at Smith Station Ranch get in to the Mammoth Jack scene the right why. Helping me pick out SS Cadillac Jack or Dutch as we all call him is what helped us make our mark in the mule and donkey show world. Dutch is the sweetest, most easy going animal I have been around. He passes that loving attitude along with great conformation on to all his offspring.

Dutch is not only pretty to look at but a winner in the show ring. He has not only won for many years at Bishop in halter, but he has also won many high point performance donkey shows all over California. Dutch has also won the AMA year end high point halter donkey 2 years in a row (2008-2009)and the reserve performance AMA high point donkey in 2009. Everyone who has met Dutch falls in love with him. At our ranch the saying is "To know Dutch is to Love Dutch". Thanks again for all your help and guidance! We love you guys and there will NEVER be another Dutch!!!

Hello, Bill, Gina, Becca and Dozer -

"Precious" participated in her first parade yesterday. She performed like an old pro! She also won first place in the equine division (check out the blue ribbon!) Consequently we had to lead the equine section, right behind the marching band!!! I was concerned she might be intimidated by the drums and the flag team directly in front of us, but we held back a little until she understood what they were doing and then she walked right down main street like she's done it all her life.

Blue Ribbon for Precious.

In three minutes she showed all those horse folks what I've been saying - she was alert but calm in a new situation. I think my favorite part of the day was right before the parade. We stood quietly in the shadow of our trailer (it was 90 degrees at 9am!!) while horsemen and women rode their spirited mounts in circles until they were shiny with sweat, and we watched quietly as horses pawed and chomped at the bit, then when it was time to go we quietly walked on out to our place in line. I KNOW she is being discussed today at the local coffee shop!!

Shane did a great job with "Precious," and I just wanted to thank you again for my outstanding saddle donkey! She took great care of me and I am confident we will go many fun places together.

Hi, I thought I'd send you an update on our Tsula (sold to us as Candy). She is doing very well on our pack trips and riding behind our house. Last summer I was riding her alone when we met up with a mama bear and cub, and she did everything exactly right. She stopped and warned me before I even saw them, stood her ground with only gentle encouragement, and then kept going down the trail after they left, very calm and cool. She did great job, especially since she didn't have our older donkeys there to coach her. Here's a picture of her on the Pacific Crest Trail last summer. Thanks for a great animal with a big heart.

Hi Bill, Just wanted to send you a few pics, you can add to your testimonials page if you like. We posted pics on facebook too, everyone loves her.

Here is our big girl Peggy that we just purchased from Bill Garrett. She came out of the trailer, we gave her a couple days to settle in and then it was off to work on the ranch. She is good with our dogs, in fact appreciates having the dingo lead out. I have mostly ridden her alone but my husband rode one of the mules (he was the one taking the picture), and she preferred to lead out, when I put her behind the mule she was telling me she would just as soon go back home as follow that mule. LOL Becca will be pleased to learn that she is learning to neck rein. It is just not feasible, for the type of riding we do, to have both hands on the reins. Luckily, we have much brush, mostly catclaw and mesquite, and it didn’t take her too long to figure out that I was trying to help her, not annoy her. When she wouldn’t heed the cue she ended up tangled up in catclaw. She has a pretty good rollback she is working on too, but when pressed she will push her way through the brush and go where she’s needed.

Having been a long time many mule owner, I am impressed at how quickly the donkey learns and how loyal they are. I look forward to our next purchase from Bill. He definitely has an eye for what makes a good donkey, both in stature and temperament.

Subject: Mammoths in England.

Hi Bill,

My name is Denise Hewett, we bought 2 jennets that were ship over to England by you a few year ago, Oklahoma Pegasus and Oklahoma Fresh Start.

We have bred three of foals from them; I thought you might like to see a photo of the donkey that we have kept as our Stallion he is called “Highpoint Cracker”. His Sire was Oklahoma Louis and his Dam was Oklahoma Fresh Start.

He has the most wonderful temperament you could wish for, he was born on 18th September 2011. He was just 3 years old in the attached photo.

“Highpoint Cracker” has also Sired our first mule “Highpoint Ruby”, who is causing quite a stir in the British Mule world. Most British mules are about 12.2hh – 13.2hh and don’t have good conformation, but the” Garrett Oklahoma” blood line has come through and she is very special. I have attached a photo of her winning at her first show. She is now 14 months old.

There are very few Mammoths in England as you know, so every time we show our white yearling, who is also out of “Oklahoma Fresh Start” he gets a great deal of attention, and we get lots of offers to buy him. He has been gelded though, as I want to ride and drive him in the future.

I hope you don’t mind me emailing you, but I thought you might be interested to see what has happened to two of your stock.

Very best wishes

Denise Hewett
