Agriculture Day in Oklahoma

On Oklahoma Agriculture Day, March 24, 2022, Governor J. Kevin Stitt rode to the state capitol of Oklahoma in grand cowboy style! That day, Becca Garrett helped Don McGee of Full Moon Mule Company hitch up the mules, then posed for several photos with the Governor. She rode to the capitol in the back of Full Moon's wagon, with Gov. Stitt at the reins. It was amazing!

All About Becca

Becca began her show career at the age of two at the Oklahoma State Fair where she showed her donkey, Oklahoma Tango in the halter division earning a blue ribbon. This was the first of many trips to the show ring throughout her life to this point. She has traveled all over the United States showing donkeys and mules and this has become a great passion in her life earning many Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion titles. She has also learned that sometimes she comes out of the show ring without a ribbon and to use this to work harder for the next show.

In her youth, every afternoon when school was out you would find her on her donkey Oklahoma's Painted Lady or her mule Patchasaurass practicing in preparation to go to the next event. She has helped expand the family business Garrett Mammoth Jackstock in showcasing the abilities of mammoth donkeys. She also has a great passion for helping children who want to learn to ride. Just seeing the smiles on their face after a ride makes her day.

Becca joined the FFA chapter at her high school when she was a freshman. She has competed on many teams through FFA as well as doing a Proficiency on specialty animals. She placed 3rd in the state in Specialty animal production entrepreneurship/placement. She will build on this agriculture proficiency and hopefully place higher this next year to be able to compete at the national level. She also received the Star Greenhand award at the FFA banquet as a sophomore and has held a FFA office for two years.

Many special people have helped Becca along the way, and she is so very thankful for each of them. She realizes she would not have had the success she has achieved without their help. When she steps in the saddle in the show ring she always has a leather cross on her saddle horn that says "Cowboy Tough," representing the greatest cowboy she has ever known and her inspiration. Most of all she is thankful for the talent and abilities that God has blessed her with, and to Him she gives all of the glory.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, she is living life knowing her Dozer is cheering her on in every competition she enters.
